The family lived in many places due to his father's profession. One move necessary as the family home was to become part of the Quabbin Reservoir.
He graduated in 1948 from North Quincy, Massachusetts High School and from Wentworth Institute, Boston, Massachusetts in 1950 with an Architectual Construction Associate Degree.
Fred was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War as a Communication Technician. While in Guam, he was instrumental in starting a weightlifting group.
Fred worked for Gregg & Son/Triangle Pacific and Maine Manufacturing as sales manager until the business was sold. He last worked at Friend Lumber, designing kitchens.
Fred, an honest, hard-working, quiet gentleman loved and enjoyed his family. He lived a good life and was always available with a helping hand and a sense of humor. He very seldom asked for anything. An outdoorsman, he hunted, fished especially ice fishing and with his wife hiked and snowshoed. He liked to read, play pool at the Nashua Senior Activity Center and was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots teams.
