The family will greet friends at Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:30 until the service.
Mr. Maddox was a native of Brewton, GA and moved to Milledgeville in 1965 after serving in the Army in Germany. He worked in the Dental Lab at Central State Hospital and enjoyed farming and fishing in his spare time before and after retirement. He served as a deacon at Mosleyville Baptist Church and Hardwick Baptist Church and was a member of the Men’s prayer group. One of his greatest joys was visiting shut-ins and nursing home residents. He also delivered Meals On Wheels. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed being Papa and most recently a Great Papa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake Herman Maddox and Chloe Klepper Maddox; his brother, Donald Maddox; and sisters, Katherine Jordan and Mae Jean Alford. He is survived by his wife, Nell Young Maddox of Milledgeville; daughter, Rhonda (Miles) Whipple of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Kristen Whipple (Jacob) Parsons, Kaitlin Whipple (Tristan) Tollison, Kellie Whipple; and great grandchild, Asher Jake Parsons.
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse International and Hardwick Baptist Church
