FOREST CITY, Mo. - Karen Jo (Hopper) Harvey, 78, passed away June 15, 2019, at a St. Joseph hospital.
She was born in Forest City, on June 22, 1940, to Joseph and Lenorl (Grimes) Hopper.
Karen attended school in Forest City. She worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections in both Cameron and St. Joseph for many years prior to her retirement.
Preceding her in death were: her parents; daughter, Ramona Ridler; brother, Melvin Hopper; sister, Virginia Hopper; and step-mother, Maudie Shelton.
Survivors include: her daughters, Diedra Kernes and Rita (Tadd) Sandstrom, both of St. Joseph; sons, John Harvey Jr. and wife Cathy, Forest City, and Dennis Hopper; brothers, Joe Hopper, Gary (Gina) Hopper, Allen (Sharon) Hopper, and David (Diane) Hopper; sisters, May Noble, Yvonne (Donnie) Catterson, and Irene Schubert, all of St. Joseph; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services: 3 p.m. Thursday, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon, Missouri.
Family will greet friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. prior to the services.
Interment at Forest City Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family to assist with expenses.
