Mary Jo, 72, passed away at her home surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of Charles and Dolores Frilling. On Jun 20, 1970, in McCartyville, she married Daniel Schmiesing, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons: George, Plymouth, MI, and Kenneth (Michelle Belna), Palmyra, PA; three daughters: Shanna (Jeff) Bartolin, Worthington, Rebecca (Jeremy) Miller, Kempton, IN, and Carlasue (Ingel) Eribal, Newport News, VA; a sister, Judy Fortenberry (H. Wayne), Leander, TX; and eleven grandchildren.

Deceased are a sister linked below; parents-in-law: Edwin and Clara Schmiesing; and two grandchildren: C.I. and Iben Eribal.

After graduating from the University of Dayton, she taught social studies in Columbus, and the Marion School system. She helped her husband operate his large animal veterinary practice and managed their farm Mardan Acres. She was the first parish life coordinator for St. Aloysius Parish (St. Al's), a member and past president of the Mercer County Genealogical Society, Secretary of the Ohio Red Poll Association, a 25-year 4-H advisor, and a member and former director of St Al's choir. She was known for her mild manner and willingness to help others.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Carthagena. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
