Roy Pascal Covington, a native of Walker, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at his home in Walker at the age of 88.
Visitation at Judson Baptist Church, Walker, on Monday, Nov. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Merelin McCon. Burial will follow in Judson Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edna Sibley Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and John Bush, Kathleen Covington, Joan and Elton Marsh, and Patti and Tom Higginbotham; grandchildren, Jennifer Bush Dorhauer and husband Douglas, Johnathan Bush, Jarrod Marsh, Kimberly Higginbotham, Brendan Marsh, Allison Higginbotham and Erin Marsh; sisters, Alvis Stafford and Gladys Williams; and brothers, Grady and Aubrey Covington.
He was preceded in death by parents, Arch and Alice Covington; sisters, Jessie Barnett and Hazel Watts; brother, Warren Williams.
He was a member of Judson Baptist Church, a deacon and served in the Sunday school for 70 years. He was also a veteran of World War II and a retired Ethyl Corp. electrician.
