Born in Albermarle Co., VA; He was a Captain in the Continental Army, was with George Washington at the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorkstown 19 Oct 1781, Emigrated to KY with his family in the fall of 1784 and settled in the cane near what is now Main St of Richmond. One of the first representatives for KY.
