The daughter of Silas Bruce and Lillie Leotta Sturgeon Cripe, she was born in Iroquois County, Ill.
A retired teacher, she had taught for 40 years in Deacon, Cass County, and had lived in the Kokomo-Galveston area for 16 years.
She had also taught at Dana, St. Bernice, Randall, Onward, Helms Junior High, Clay Twp. of Miami County, and Southeastern schools.
She attended Ball State and Indiana universities, was a member of the Young America Knitting Club and Galveston Order of Eastern Star, and was a fabric painting craft instructor.
Survivors are a brother, John S. Cripe of Kokomo; her twin sister, Ethel Teel, and another sister, Mary Beck, both of Young America, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Murray Funeral Home, Galveston Chapel. Burial will be in Young America Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today, with Eastern Star services at 7:30 p.m.
