He was born in Chester Township on February 2, 1912 to Christian and Minnie Bigler Begly and married Edna Wenger on January 1, 1940. They shared life together for 65 years. She survives.
He was formerly employed by F.E. Myers Pump in Ashland and retired from Borg Warner/Rexroth following 26 years of service. He was a member of the Chester Christian Fellowship Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children, Joanne Paul Richard, Janet Virgil Weaver, and Darla Mervin Sadler, all of Wooster; Dwight Begly of Akron and Esther Erwin Amstutz of Dalton; a son-in-law, Alvin Nussbaum of Apple Creek; 27 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elaine Mrs. Alvin Nussbaum; 2 brothers, Nathan and Harvey; a sister, Mary; an infant sister; a grandson and a great granddaughter.
