Juanita Wright Holmes, 93, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on June 7, 1926, in Newbern, TN, to the late Henry and Trummie Story Wright. Juanita was a retired employee with Ladies Clothing Retail. She was a member of Fowlkes Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a member and director of the Women's Missionary Union.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Fowlkes Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny O'Guin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Holmes Shipley and husband, James, of Fowlkes, TN; a son, Elmo Len Holmes and wife, Dianne, of Sugar Tree, TN; two sisters, Mildred Bradley of Newbern, TN and Lea Ella Hall of Dyersburg, TN; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Edgin, Laura Drew Holmes, James Holmes Shipley and Daniel W. Holmes; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Lee Edgin, Emily Claire Edgin, Ellie Shea Edgin, Katlyn Paige Shipley, Logan Matthew Shipley and Everly Carlisle Holmes; and her sister-in-law, Alice Wright of Roellen, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Holmes; and a brother, Staff Sergeant William Henry Wright.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Edgin, Logan Shipley, Daniel Holmes, Mike Shelton, Jeff Bradley and Josh Hicks.
