Leola Ewing-Williams was born on April 30, 1945 in Elaine, Arkansas to the late Eddie Lee and Effie Lee Ewing. Leola was the oldest of six girls.

Leola accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She married the late James Williams who preceded her in death.

Leola was a home health care worker. She loved fishing. Leola also enjoyed doing hair. She was the neighborhood self-taught hairdresser.

In the early years of her life, she moved her family to Helena, Arkansas. Leola joined the Silver Cloud M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. W. Webb. She later moved her membership to New Hope M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. G. R. Mazique to be closer to her mother and sisters. She remained a faithful member and a member of the choir under the leadership of Elder Billy G. Williams until her health begin to fail her.

Leola was called home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Leola is preceded in death by, her parents, Eddie Lee and Effie Lee Ewing, a sister, Dorothy Jean Moore, and a brother, Charles Barnes.

Leola leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Herman Johnson(Sally) of North Little Rock, AR, a daughter, Sherry Sanders(Antonio) of Columbia, SC, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mary Mitchell, Betty Mooney(Charley), Willie Mae Scruggs and Effie Lee Bryant all of Helena-West Helena, AR, an aunt, Leola Jones of St. Louis, MO, a sister-in-law, Helen Barnes of Helena-West Helena, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
