Carl Henderson, passed away at the age of 69 on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. He was a loving husband and father.

Carl was born on Jan. 17, 1950, in Decatur, Alabama, to Jesse James Henderson and Annie Mae Garth. His family later moved to Chattanooga.

Carl was a graduate of Riverside High School. He was served in the United States Army with the 101st ABN Division. After his honorable discharge from the military, he worked at TVA, from which he also retired.

Carl had a very devoted spirit when it came to his service for the Lord. Carl served as a devoted Deacon at the Orchard Park SDA Church. Carl was also the first to greet each member as they came in the door at church and would also have prayer with those who requested it. He had an infectious grin and kind and compassionate spirit.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Jesse James Henderson; mother, Annie Mae Garth; step-mother, Catherine Henderson.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Clara Henderson; children, Daphane Hamilton, Kevin Hamilton, Carnell Hamilton and Stephanie Turner; siblings, Jean Parrish, Michael Henderson, Catherine Nelson and Vivian Hart; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and step-mother, Geraldine Henderson.

The body will lie in state at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14, at Orchard Park Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
