He was preceded in death by his parents, Elder James Hale, Florene Scott Hale and Hattie Earl Moorer-Hale; son, Timothy Gladden; siblings, Elmer Hale, Ruth Hale, Carol Mae Hale Anderson, Joe Hale , Standford Hale, Phyllis Davis, Jerrie Wilmington, Anna Stokes and David Hale; special nephew, John Anderson and special friend, Melvin Burt.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife, Sessly Denise O'Neal Hale; sons, Paul (LaVina) Hale Jr. of Akron, Ohio, Lawrence Gay of Anderson S.C., Gregory (Maranda) Gay of Canton, Ohio; daughters, Tiandria (Chi Do) Gay of Canton, Ohio and Diamond (Shanvoy) Wilson of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Luvenia (Rosevelt) McKinnie and Mary Jane Whiteside, Babara Stephenson, Sophia Madison, Sharon (Jewell) Chrishon, Bernice (Cornelius) Lassic; brothers, Larry (Connie) Hale, Tommie Suggs, Haley Suggs and Willie Suggs; grandchildren, Joseph (Shirley) Kidd, Ebony Kidd, Lahsha Hale, Sirajj Hale, Laniyah Gay, Carter Wilson, Savannah Wilson, Logan Gay, Cody Do and Tatum Do; six great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends including Fred Tolbert, Dilbert Dyer, Mark Neal, Bob Hale, and David Mason.
Homegoing celebration will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019, 11 a.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., Akron, OH 44306 where friends may call from 10 a.m. until of service. Pastor Marc Neal Eulogizing. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to 172 Yellow Pine Dr., Anderson, SC 29626.
