COTEAU – Funeral services will be conducted for Tammy Darby Romero, age 42, at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 21, 2010 and will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home. Pastor Dwight DeRouen of Our Saviors Church will officiate at the service.
Interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Tammy passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Tammy was born June 20, 1968 to Clarence Darby, Jr. and Beverly Landry.
She was a devoted mother who lived her life for her children. Her family meant everything to her and she cherished the times spent with them. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Tommy James “TJ” Romero, Taylor McKenzie Romero, and Tyler John Romero all of Coteau; her mother, Beverly Landry of Coteau; her sister, Sherry Castleberry and husband James of Jacksonville, FL; a half brother and two half sisters, Murphy Darby, Patrina Darby Little, and Tina Darby; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Darby, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Lou and Newman Landry; and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Lily Darby.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Romero, James Castleberry, and Billy Landry.
Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
