THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 14, 2007: “Mildred Juanita Floyd Kincaid, 84, of Bedford passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, in Oak Hollow Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Bedford. Funeral services are to be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Beverly Olsen officiating. Burial follows in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family receives friends from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. She was born the seventh of eleven children on Dec. 14, 1922, in the Shady Grove Community, a daughter of Earl Kelley and Lillian Opal Whitten Floyd. She was married to Dixie Loyd Pettit for 31 years until his death. She was married to James Edward Kincaid for 35 years until his death on Jan. 28, 2005. She grew up in the Shady Grove Community and moved to Dallas in 1947. She was employed as a seamstress, licensed hairdresser, and last with LTV Aerospace & Defense Company, Vought Aeronautics Division Dallas, from which she retired on Jan. 31, 1985. She joined Pleasant Mound United Methodist Church in Dallas on February 1984. She enjoyed music beginning as a child to play the piano, singing, playing organ, autoharp, and guitar. She sang in the church choir for several years and played autoharp and sang in an all female Hawaiian music group for several years. After retirement she learned to make ceramics and paint, which she enjoyed very much. She also enjoyed league bowling for many years. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Clyde Cunningham, Jack Floyd, Howard Floyd, Robert Floyd, Paulina Secrest, Dempsey Floyd and M. L. Floyd. She is survived by her children, Patricia Ann Pettit Shrader and husband, David, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Derrel Lee Pettit and wife, Lana, of Marble Falls, Vickie Lynn Pettit Sullivan and husband, Patrick, of Bedford, Patricia Diana Kincaid Compton and husband, Alan, of Quinlan; eleven grandchildren, Cheryl Krupka, Steven Krupka, Karen Gettier, Jeffrey Pettit, Craig Fulton, Michelle Hudak, Matthew Fulton, Mark Shrader, Heather Shrader, Melissa Featherston and Brian Compton;18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo Floyd Hughes of Belk; brother, Kelly Floyd of Gun Barrell City. She loved her large extended family and spending time together with them. Pallbearers are Bobby Floyd, Gary Floyd, Jason Hudak, Craig Fulton, Curtis Floyd and Ronnie Floyd.

She was the daughter of Earl Floyd & Lillian Whitten Floyd.
