Karen L. Faulkner, 66, of rural Farmington, Iowa, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 9:50 a.m. at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born July 8, 1945 in Fort Madison, Iowa, she was the daughter of Willis Leland and Charlotte (Munford) Baum. On March 23, 1978 she married LaVerne M. Faulkner in Kahoka, Missouri.
Survivors include her husband LaVerne Faulkner of Farmington, Iowa, two sons Michael Faulkner of Farmington, Iowa, Christopher (fiance' Stacey) Faulkner of Grimes, Iowa, one brother Gerald Baum of Farmington, Iowa, several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother.
Karen was a graduate of Harmony High school and Southeastern Community College, she then attended the University of Iowa. After college, Karen was an administrative assistant for the economics Professor at the University of Iowa. She later served as the city clerk in Farmington. Karen was a member of Artaban Chapter Order of Eastern Star #483 in Donnellson, she had previously served as a worthy matron of Eastern Star in Farmington. She enjoyed her family, ceramics, reading, long car rides in the country, nature, being outdoors, fireworks and her home.
