Harold “Gene” Garrett, 84, died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Mission Hospital.
He was a native of Haywood County, and had lived in Henderson County since 2010.
He was the son of the late James and Leacil Garrett. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Gene was a self-employed contractor for 42 years in Haywood County.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda Mills Garrett; a son, Kim Eugene Garrett (Jo Ann), Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Tyler Garrett (Sabrina), Campobello, South Carolina and Jodi Garrett Murphy (Andrew), Hendersonville; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Murphy, Hendersonville and Caleb Garrett, Campobello, South Carolina and a number of nieces and nephews.
