Simon was married to Marianna (Mary) Hogozeja 1863-1871 who died at age 26 on 3 Sep 1871 in Lankowice, Kcynia, Poland leaving Simon as a widow with 3 young sons. Tecla Hogozeja born 17 SEP 1852 and Mary's younger sister, at the age of 19, married Simon Tobijanski on 10 Jun 1872 in the Catholic Parish Kcynia, Poland. Together, Simon, his 2nd wife, Teckla and 3 young boys immigrated to USA, first to Wisconsin where their first daughter was born in 1873 before the family settled in Calumet, Houghton Co, Michigan. Margaret married William McKelvie in 2 Aug 1915 in Calumet, Houghton Co., Michigan. Witnesses to her wedding were two of her siblings: Peter and Mary Tobinski. Together, Margaret and William McKelvie had a daughter, Margaret Mary McKelvie 30 Jul 1920, Houghton Co. Michigan. Margaret and William McKelvie were buried at the Lake View Cemetery in Section T. Her parents, Simon and Tecla and several of her siblings were buried in the TOBIJANSKI plot Section B also at the Lake View Cemetery, Calumet, MI. Her daughter Margaret Mary Murtaugh (nee McKelvie) later died 21 Feb 2008 and was buried in the Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, Rockland, New York, USA.
