John A Hobbs 91-year-old WW II Veteran, February 11, 1928 – June 12, 2019. If you were fortunate enough to meet John A you instantly became a lifelong friend with fond memories. If you never had the opportunity to meet him you sure missed out on a great friendship.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Conroy Hobbs, father, John P Hobbs. Wife Libby Murphy Hobbs. Brother Paul Hobbs, sisters Joann Sanders and Patricia Williams.

Survived by loving companion Nancy Quinn. Brother, Kenneth Hobbs and sister Margaret Ferguson. Sons; Mike (Judy) Hobbs, Joe (Elizabeth) Hobbs, Ronnie (Sandy) Hobbs and John C Hobbs. 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

John A basically skipped his childhood. He quit school so he could help support his family. He served in the Merchant Marines during WW ll at age 15 and began his first business at age 27. He developed and managed The Nashville Palace, Music Valley Museum, liquor and convenience stores and numerous hotels. He was dedicated to promoting country music and supporting entertainers. He was a loving, kind and generous family man and an exceptional friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

Celebration of life will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Ed Steiner officiating. Interment to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers; Mike Hobbs ll, Mark Hobbs, Barrett Hobbs, Landon Hobbs, Bobby Ciccolella and Hill Snyder Honorary Pallbearers; Dr. Ben Birdwell, Fred Sparling, Joe West, Tommy Lasorda, Randy Travis, Ricky Van Shelton, Billy Russell, Congressman Jim Cooper, Jeff Mobley, Wayne Beck, Eddie Paschall, LD Wayne, Dixon Fleming, Todd Dodson, Speaker Kent Williams, Berry Gearon, David Smith, Tom Powell family, Pat Mitchell family, Bob Oeder family, Terry Clyne family, Charlotte Smith, K of C card players, PCB FL friends and John A’s Restaurant employees.
