The death occurred on Monday, Jan 16th, of Minnie Julia Toop, widow of the late W.R. More, at the homestead on the 7th line of Ramsay, at the age of 86. Born at Wiltshire, England, in 1864, a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Frederick Sidney Toop, she came to Canada with her parents at the age of eight and lived at Cornwall later coming to Almonte. She was married in April, 1883 to the late W.R. More and they resided in Ramsay Township. She leaves four sons and three daughters, Alfred of Carberry, Man.; William of Wood River, Ill.; Edwin and Cecil of Ramsay; Edith, Mrs Root of San Fransciso, Calif.; Ida, Mrs Frank Guerard, Carleton Place; Ethel, Mrs Percy DeRouchie, Meadville, P.A. Three brothers, W.A. Toop, Almonte; Gordon, Carleton Place and Percy, of Edmonton. One son, Welland, and one daughter, Minnie, predeceased her. Among the beautiful floral tributes were wreaths and sprays from the family, Shell Oil Co., Alton, Ill; Light Oil Dept., Alton Ill. The pall-bearers were Welland and Harvey Timmins, Walter More, James McKay, Wilbert McEwen and Harold Miller. Rev T. DeCourcy Rayner conducted the funeral service which was held at the home of her son, Cecil, on Wed., Jan 18th, at 3 p.m. to the Auld Kirk vault for interment in the family plot in the spring
