Lola Landers Hamilton passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her home. She was born October 30, 1918 in Riverton Wyoming, while her father served in WWI. She was 100 and ½ years old.



Lola lived 87 of those years in Bridger Valley on the Hamilton ranch where she resided until death. She graduated from Mountain View High School with the class of 1936 and continued to educate herself and develop many talents and skills. She was very well read and was known for her positive approach to life.



A few of Lola's hobbies included sewing, quilting, baking and decorating wedding cakes, crocheting, knitting upholstery, and oil painting. She has made at least 100 pieced quilts and around 40 wedding cakes for friends and family. Numerous crocheted items for use and beauty have been shared.



Lola was a lifelong avid bird watcher, a historian, and a champion letter writer. She has written her own history and journals and was the "go-to" person for remembering past as well as recent history and occurrences- up until the very end of her life.



Service in many community and state leadership positions over the years was important to Lola, and she stayed up to date on world news and politics. She served as an election judge for many years and was instrumental in the creation of the Uinta County Library system.



Lola and John, her husband of nearly 60 years, raised six children: Jerry, Pat, Chuck, Claudia, Richard, and Chris, and have numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.







There will be a viewing Thursday June 13th, 6-8 pm, at the former Episcopal Church at 95 Carter Ave, in Fort Bridger Wyoming. (Behind the Catholic Church)



A graveside service will be Friday June 14, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Fort Bridger Cemetery.
