James M. "Jim" Claypool, 51, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011.
He was born May 17, 1959 to William & Jeannine (Gilliland) Claypool and graduated from Kouts High School in 1978.
Jim had worked the past 30 years as an Industrial Painter with both J.L. Manta and C.L.Coatings. He was currently a Superintendent with C.L. Coatings of Mokena, IL and a member of local #460.
He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Chesterton.
On October 17, 1981 he married Barbara Wright who survives along with their daughters: Jen Claypool (Robbie Yata) of Chicago, Christy (Derek) Thomas of Lafayette, Jim's mother, Jeannine Claypool of Kouts, brothers: Robert (Barbara) Claypool of Valparaiso, Rod Claypool of Mississippi, Jon (Irene) Claypool of California and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
A visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 8 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 3:00 pm at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 237 E. 1200 N., Chesterton, Rev. Roger Bower officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 4525 Baring Ave., East Chicago, IN 46312.
