Gordon Frederick Chamberlain A great man, Gordon Frederick Chamberlain, passed away on April 15, 2012. Always an early riser, he chose the morning, his best time of day, to leave. Gordon was the third of six children, born to Albert and Margaret Chamberlain in Jackson, Michigan on January 24, 1919. Always an especially responsible man, he tried to make sure important details were taken care of from the time he was a young teenager to the time of his death. He leaves behind his adoring wife of 66 years, Saralu; his loving daughters, Cynthia (Tom), Carol (Gary), and Barbara (Jerry); daughter-in-law, Vicki; two brothers, Richard and Philip; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three devoted caregivers. He is preceded in death by his son, Albert. Gordon demonstrated what a great person he was by being the quintessential example of how to live life simply and within one's means. His most important desires were making sure his family and close friends were cared for, paying cash for his cars, and keeping ice cream available for dessert when he felt like it. He retired from the State of Michigan in 1982, but never retired from being a truly wonderful man. Abiding by his wishes, there will be no services.
