Darrell grew up and attended school in the Manes, Missouri area. He had an auto mechanic shop in Manes, and he also worked as a mechanic at the Manes School bus barn. He also drove a truck for several years. Darrell enjoyed mowing grass. In addition to his own yard, he mowed at the Manes School and pretty much all over Manes. He liked tinkering on cars, building hot rods, and building different types of things. He enjoyed going to the races and taking the grandchildren to many of them as well. When you went to his house, you could usually find him lying on the couch with the TV on and turned up way too loud!
Besides his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by one son, Jimmie Barnes, and one brother, David Barnes.
He is survived by one son, Marty Barnes and his wife, Ronie, of Manes, Missouri, one daughter, Janice Coltrane and her husband, Randy, of Grovespring, Missouri, five grandchildren, Garth Barnes and his wife, Mallory, Danielle Price and her husband, Jared, Jessi Cummings, Ethan Barnes, and Ally Coltrane, many great-grandchildren, Marty’s mother, Helen Barnes, two brothers, Dean Barnes and his wife, Fay, Rodney Barnes and his wife, Angela, one sister, Neoma Lyman, and many other friends and neighbors who will miss him.
