She attended Franklin-Monroe High School. Melissa married Alvin Bird on December 21, 1978 and they enjoyed 41 years of life together making unforgettable memories. Melissa and Alvin have two sons, Abe and Jesse. Both Melissa and Alvin managed 500 Acres Ranch, where they raised cattle and hay, just outside of Georgetown, Texas. She was a very organized person and took care of the ranch’s paperwork for the cattle and also the bookkeeping for the money coming into the ranch. She also spent time cleaning the homes on the property, as well as the ranch owners’ home in Austin, Texas. In her pass time, she took care of calves, deer, rabbits, flowers and three gardens. Melissa loved to watch sun sets on the property, photography, baking, cooking, and making wine. She will sure be missed, God bless her… She was a blessing to many.
Melissa is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Bertha Crow and her brother, Tom.
She is survived by her husband Alvin, sons Jesse and Abe and her sisters: Pam, Karlene, Darla, Angie, Tina, Amy and Michelle. Brothers Jeff, Vincent, and Daniel; sister in law: Sarah.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Scott Trittschuh officiating, followed by a graveside service at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
