Richard W. Harmon, 79, of Muncie, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 6:50 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2019 at the I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Richard was born July 28, 1939 in Columbus, Indiana, the son of John and Hester Wallace Harmon.
Mr. Harmon retired from Golden Foundry after 42 years of service.
He attended The Rock Free Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He married Melody A. Barriger December 10, 1982.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years; children, Paula Harmon of Columbus, Todd Harmon of Columbus and Vicci (Yinka) Adedire of Muncie; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Harmon on Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, James Arthur III.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at The Rock Free Methodist Church with the Revs. Brian Buterbaugh and Chet Martin Officiating.
Family and friends may call from noon to time of service Saturday at the church.
In keeping with Mr. Harmon’s wishes, cremation will take place.
