Jerry was a 1953 graduate of Anderson High School where he started in baseball and basketball. He received a full ride sports scholarship to Ball State Teacher's College where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. He went on to a career in Insurance, spending 30 years with the Hoosier Motor Club. Jerry was a devoted husband and father, always placing his family first. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer and tennis player, and enjoyed boating and skiing at Lake Wawasee.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin (Diane) Banker of Bedford, Jeffrey Banker of Anderson; grandchildren, Preston, Sophia, Foster, and Cy Banker. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Blanchard) Banker.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anderson Christian Center.
