Came to America May 1885 to Wisconsin with his wife Henrietta and seven children, 3 in diapers. They were able to stay with a Uncle,living in the barn until they could find a place. They had a total of 11 children, all living until adulthood. They lived off what they grew on their farm. Of course they spoke German.
