Max Junior Butcher, 68, of Bloomington, died Saturday at his residence.

Born June 23, 1938, in Monroe County, he was the son of General and Ardie (Terrell) Butcher.
He was a self-employed carpenter.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Butcher of Bloomington, and Lisa Koker and Debra Johnson, both of Indianapolis; six sons, Robin Butcher, Gordon Butcher; Danny Butcher and Gary Butcher, all of Bloomington, Michael Butcher of Connersville and James Butcher of Riverview, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne Butcher of Des Moines, Iowa, John Butcher of Indianapolis and Harold Butcher of Bloomington; and four sisters, Mary Bruner and Lea Bruner, both of Bloomington, Shirley Cherilla of Erie, Pa., and Sharon Pahmeier of Mohona, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson, Michael Shane Butcher and one brother, Robert Butcher.
