Hoffman, Grace E., 92, Windber died Sept. 2, 2018 at Windber Woods. Born Oct. 23, 1925 in Windber daughter of the late Oliver and Margaret (Burkett) Weaver. Also preceded in death by husband Harold to whom she was married for 56 years, and 10 brothers and sisters. Survived by daughter Sherry, wife of Dave Lyons, Johnstown, and son Dean, married to former Jenny Ament, Hummelstown. Grandmother to Terry (Alyssa) Lyons, Jesse (Alyana) Hoffman, Joel (Arlea) Hoffman and Carrie (Rob) Beebout. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law to Gertie Weaver and Ann Hoffman, both of Windber, and Betty Hoffman, Johnstown. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Member of Windber Church of the Brethren where she held many positions such as deaconess, and operating the church kitchen. She volunteered at Windber Food Pantry, Church of the Brethren Home, & Camp Harmony. She was known as the “apple dumpling lady” and “candy lady” at family picnics. She was the last member of her immediate family. She loved to crochet especially gifts for her family. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc., Windber where deacon’s service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Windber Church of the Brethren preceded by one hour visitation at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Joe Brown will officiate. Private interment at Berkey Cemetery.
