Rosemary Josephine Holland, 83, was born October 14, 1935, to Carl and Mercedes (Sarony) Anderson in Des Moines. She passed away Monday, January 28, 2019. Visitation will be at All Saints Parish on Friday, February 1st from 4-6:30 p.m., with a rosary following. Mass of Christian burial will be at All Saints Parish, Saturday, February 2nd at 10 a.m., with a luncheon following burial at Pine Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemary’s name may be given to a charity of your choosing.

Rosemary was united in marriage to Gerald Ray Holland on December 1, 1956, in Des Moines. Rosemary received her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing and later went on to Drake University to obtain her Bachelor of Arts. She enjoyed working in her rose garden, attending family functions and hosting family dinners.

Rosemary was very active with many organizations and volunteering in the community. Some of the organizations and volunteer work include: President of Nursing Association, Domestic Abuse Center Mentor, Book Program at Mitchellville Prison, Carver Volunteer Des Moines Public School Reading Mentor, IN Association Board of Trustee, Den Mother Cub Scouts, Public Policy Community of IA Nursing Association, Lobbyist of Nursing and Public Health at Capital; on the Board of Directors for Primary Heath Care, an Active Church member and Avid bridge player, volunteer for the Democrat Party Campaign and DMACC Advisory Board for Nursing.

Rosemary is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gerald Holland; children: Michael (Sandi) Holland, Gregory (Tracy) Holland, Mary (Jerry) Nybakken and Anne (Jeff) Townsend; her grandchildren, Cutler (Audrey), Trevor (Macy), Breanna, DeLaney, Walker Lee, Jacob (Destinee), Andrew (Allyssa), Audrey (Andrew), Blane and Sydney Rose; great-grandchildren, Adalynne, Berkley, Kodiak and Aurora. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Bryce John Holland.
