U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the law department of the University of Buffalo, in 1926, was admitted to the bar in 1927 and commenced to practice law in Buffalo, New York. He was a Republican New York State committeeman, (1937-45). In 1945, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-ninth and Eightieth Congresses, serving until 1949. After leaving Congress, he continued to practice law until his death at age 78.
