Dianna Lynn (Tapley) Anderson, 60
PORTLAND -- Dianna Lynn (Tapley) Anderson, 60, of Portland, died peacefully on March 11, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family after a long courageous fight with cancer.
Born in Portland on May 7, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Norman A. and Kathleen M. (Winslow) Tapley. She was raised and educated in Portland and graduated from Portland High School, class of 1970.
Dianna was employed for many years as a decorator for the Curtain Shop in Portland and later became employed as a customer service representative for the J. Weston Walsch Publishing Company, of Portland. Dianna was also a Mentor and a Life Skills Coach for young adults.
She enjoyed reading and collecting classic books as well as collecting and displaying carousels, she particularly enjoyed listening to Christian Music and was a very competitive word game player. But most of all, Dianna enjoyed her grandchildren and the newest addition, her great-granddaughter, Esmia.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Jake this past summer. A half brother, Richard Tapley and a half sister, Norma Applebee have also predeceased her. She is survived by her two children, Ronald Hall Jr. of Portland and Kristina Marcotte and her husband Peter of Saco, two stepchildren, Amy Pina of East Bridgewater, Mass., and Paul Anderson II of Clovis, N.M.; her former husband and best friend, Paul Anderson of Old Orchard Beach; six grandchildren, Joshua Ricker of Portland, Katie Ricker of Saco, Isiah Hall of Portland, Ashley Marcotte of Saco, Erik and Madison Pina of East Bridgewater, Mass., and Neenah Hall of Portland; great- granddaughter, Esmia Ricker of Portland; two brothers, Norman Tapley and his wife Pamela of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Michael Tapley and his wife Betty of South Portland, two sisters, Donna Dennis and her husband Larry of New Gloucester, Va., and Alice Babb and her husband William of Portland, two half sisters, Linda Wilson of Ellsworth and Laura Winn of Lewiston; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She will be sadly missed by her loving children who were by her side and cared for her throughout her illness. Dianna was a kind and compassionate animal lover and will also be missed by her two 14 year old cats Sparkle and Sassy.
A period of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, 29 Ocean House Rd., Cape Elizabeth, where a funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are by the Dolby Funeral Chapel, Windham.
