Raymond E. “Buddy” Maynard, 66, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness.

He was born on September 24, 1952 in Anderson to Raymond and Minnie (Mullins) Maynard Sr. and has lived in Alexandria all of his lifetime. He was a graduate of Alexandria–Monroe High School-Class of 1971. Buddy retired from Guide Lamp in 2003 after 30 years of employment. He also worked with his father in the family business of Maynard’s Sewer and Septic. He and his wife Susan owned and operated Maynard’s Excavating and Maynard’s Recovery Service. He also had worked for Garner’s Towing in Fortville. Buddy was a member of Alexandria Eagles-#1771 where he had been President and was a Past Worthy President. Buddy and Susan had established the “Eagles Kid’s Night” at the local lodge .A fan of Harley-Davidson bikes, Buddy was a member of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). He enjoyed weekend camping. Buddy had a keen interest in motorsports, especially Jamey Garner’s monster trucks, Little 500, USAC sprint cars and NASCAR. He enjoyed his personal Harley “Trike.” He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. Buddy had a big smile and a big heart, and both will be fondly remembered.

He preceded in death by his parents, a son-Raymond E. “Eddie” Maynard III, his mother-in-law-Frances (Jarrett) Howard

Services honoring Buddy’s life and legacy will take place at 1 pm on Friday, June 14, 2019 in the Noffze Funeral Home, 501 North Harrison Street with Pastor Michael Deutsch officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
