Lillian Frances Sherman
A memorial service for Lillian Frances Sherman of Northeast Portland, a retired secretary, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Stehn's Foster Road Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sherman died of cancer Monday in her home. She was 81.
She was born Oct. 1, 1910, in Gallatin, Mo., but lived most of her life in the Portland area. She married Dean F. Sherman on Oct. 5, 1935, in Portland. Mrs. Sherman was a secretary for Dean Sherman 's Forestry Affairs Letter for about 15 years until her retirement in 1980.
Mrs. Sherman was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Her husband died in 1991.
She is survived by her sister, Jane Alexander of Portland; and five grandchildren. Her daughter, Lynn Richmond, died in 1978.
Private entombment will be in River View Abbey Mausoleum.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or to the Oregon Division of the American Cancer Society.
