Matthew Adonirum Watts, 42, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bedford, VA on December 30, 1976. A son of Tom Armstead Watts and Georgiann Murphy Watts.

Matthew earned an associate degree in culinary arts and a bachelors in food service management from Johnson and Wales University of Rhode Island. He loved to cook for people that enjoyed eating, especially for his family and friends. Matthew also loved sports and was a true Redskins Fan!

In addition to his parents Matthew is survived by his “precious” daughter, Abigail Grace “Abby” Watts; sister, Mia Watts Cunningham and her husband, Richard; grandfather, Frank Williams; special friend, christine garcia; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal Grandmother, Edith J. Williams; maternal grandfather, Ferris L. Murphy; paternal grandparents, Tom and Mattie Watts.

A funeral service and celebration of Matthews life will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at Family Life Church in Lynchburg with Pastor Ray McQueen officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00pm prior to the service also at the church. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pisgah CME Church Cemetery in Evington.
