Donna L. Carroll, 74 of Machesney Park passed away in her home on March 6, 2017. She was surrounded by her husband, children, and her protective Black Lab, Luke. Born December 28, 1942 in Rockford, Illinois. Donna graduated from East High School and then went to beauty school. She worked part-time doing hair while raising her three children. Her love for them throughout their entire lives was unconditional. Later, Donna worked as a security guard and then a machine operator at Warner Lambert. Here she met Ron, later to become her faithful and devoted husband. He was always by her side and was patient, loving, and caring throughout her illness. He made her laugh every day. Donna loved Christmas, Vegas, and Friday night fish fries. Her hobbies included reading, working in her yard, and refinishing furniture. “Project Days” with her grandchildren made her very happy. She had high standards for the furniture that would leave her garage to later become part of someone’s home.

The family would like to thank her sister-in-law and friend, Diane and sweet neighbors Joe, Diane, Jack and Aubry Zimmerman for their loving care and concern. Memorials to family to be established at a later date. Donna is survived by husband, Ron Carroll; daughters, Corri (Bob)Wilson, Jennifer (John) Kolkmeyer, son Michael (Wendy) Bredeson; step-daughter, Tracey DeMarco, step-son, Alan Mernack; grandchildren, Sheena, Mikala, Jacob (Danielle), Abby (fiancé, James), Mallory, Morgan, Kalynn, Jolie, Giuliana; sister, Shirley Teske; nieces Debby, Kelly, Tracy; nephew, Ted. She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Helen Sherwin.
