Virginia Steinmetz Higgins was the daughter of Lester and Ruth Searle Steinmetz of Jacksonville, Florida. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School class of 1948 and a retiree from George Washington Life Insurance Company of Jacksonville, FL. For the last 12 years of her life, Virginia made her home in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Virginia was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Elaine Beverly. Her survivors include a daughter, Susan Higgins Gigliotti (husband Gary) of Milledgeville; a son, Robert M. Higgins (wife Rene) of Tampa, FL; eight grandchildren - Steven, Sean, Stewart, Ashley, Stone Higgins, Ryan and Justyn Gigliotti, and Travis Beverly; two great-grandchildren and loved by many. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years loyalty serving faithfully to the end. Virginia will be sorely missed, but left family and friends with many fond memories.
