Toby was born to Glenn & Violet (Green) Selby on January 5, 1938 in Mexico, MO. He is survived by his sisters, Sherrie (Loren) Lamberson of Vandalia, MO, Vicky Dainty, (Don Law) & Connie Hampe, both of Des Moines, IA, a half-brother, Kent Selby of Farber, MO, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant siblings and a half-brother, Lonnie Selby.

Toby served his Country with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Japan. He lived in Des Moines following the war and retired from the Eagle Iron Works.
