Charles Herbert Bellows, a longtime resident of Windsor, VT, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 22 2013. He was born March 14, 1920 in Fairfax, VT the son of Herbert C. and Elizabeth (Giddings) Bellows.

He received his schooling in Fairfax where he graduated from Bellows Free Academy in 1938. He then attended the University of Alabama for two years.

He started working at the former Cone Automatic Machine Company in Windsor in June of 1940.

In April of 1943 he entered the Army Aviation Cadet Program and received his pilot's wings in June of 1944. He went overseas as a co-pilot on a B-26 medium bomber and flew thirteen missions over Germany before the war in Europe ended. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Fairfax where he worked on the family farm.

He married Barbara Bogue of Jeffersonville, VT.

In 1953 he returned to Cone Automatic Machine Company and worked for thirty years in sales and service until his retirement in 1985.

Charles was co-owner of Venture Machine Company in Windsor for eight years. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Vermont, Free and Accepted Masons.

In addition to entertaining his family, Charles enjoyed visiting aviations museums around the country.

His wife Barbara B. Bellows passed away in 2005. He was also predeceased by one daughter, Peggy Lee Howe in 2012, and one brother, Fred Bellows.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Duling of Myrtle Beach, SC, one son, Bert Bellows and his wife, Barbara of Sparks, NV, two sisters, Joyce McCuin of Fairfax, VT and Louise Counos of St. Albans, VT, one brother, Robert Bellows and his wife, Margaret of Colonial Heights, VA, seven grandchildren, including Monica Howe of Claremont, NH, who gave special care to her grandfather during the past year, John Duling, Patrick Duling, Ronald Howe II, Hannah Bellows, Sarah Bellows and Matthew Hall, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and one very close friend and caretaker, Richard Conway of Brownsville, VT.

At Mr. Bellows request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.
