Obituary for Rev. Jimmy Lamar Russell

Rev. Jimmy Lamar Russell, age 55, of Cedartown passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019.

Mr. Russell was born July 31, 1963 in Rome, GA son of Edith Smith Russell and the late Chester Russell. Jimmy was always an out going guy that loved to play a good round of cornhole. He could be found riding a horse or his motorcycle with a smile on his face. From an early age, Jimmy loved horses so much that he became a professional horse trainer and later helped build Crazy P Arena. He also followed his heart’s desire and began “Cowboy House of Praise” inside the arena and has now been going strong for 10 years. He was a simple man that loved the Lord and his family.

Survivors include his children: Blake and his wife Emily Russell and Ben Russell; grandchildren, Maddox Russell and Scout Russell; mother, Edith Russell; brother and sister in law Billy and Mary Ann Russell.

Services to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with his son, Rev. Ben Russell officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 until 5:00 PM.

The Smith & Miller Funeral of Cedartown is honored to serve the family of Rev. Jimmy Lamar Russell.
