Joan Elaine Jackson McFarland, age 66, of Douglasville passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019. She was born in Douglas County, Georgia on December 15, 1952 to the late Grover Lamar Jackson and the late Eunice Loner Jackson. Elaine was employed at Fred’s BBQ House as a cook and was Baptist by faith. Everyone who knew Elaine knew she loved going to yard sales and stopped at every yard sale she passed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Jackson, brothers- in-law, Chalmers Mayfield and Bobby Lucas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, James R. McFarland; daughters, Donna Adams and her husband William, Dana Williamson and her husband Eric; grandchildren, Nicholas Adams, Tyler Evans, Jennifer Evans, Braiden Williamson; sisters, Georgia Mayfield, Bonnie Wallace and her husband Roy, Diane Turner and husband Morgan, Debra Lucas; brothers, Wesley Jackson and wife Annette, Larry Jackson, Charles Jackson and wife Elaine.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 11 from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
The funeral will be held at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 11:30 AM with Reverend Lloyd Latham officiating. Her granddaughter, Jennifer Evans will be delivering the eulogy.
Interment will follow the service in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
