Harrison, Franklin "Wain" The Heavenly Chorus must have had an opening in the low bass section, for Wain was called home to fill the position. Wain loved to sing: first in church choir, then in Grand Rapids, Michigan with The Schubert Male Chorus, the oldest continuous male group; then with the Grand Rapid Symphony Chorus for several years. While there, a small group was formed called The Sidekicks, who entertained at nursing and retirement homes, weddings, family reunions, and local malls, singing classical pops, even making a CD. He enjoyed hunting, or as he put it, "I took my rifle for long walks in the woods". Wain was an avid reader as well, and also enjoyed working on jig saw puzzles with his wife Jeanne. Born in 1930 in Hagerstown, Maryland he grew up in both Newark, and Colesville, New Jersey, later moving to East Orange. He graduated from East Orange High School, attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he joined Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Active in photography all his professional life, he managed several camera stores, after working for Celanese Corp and Kodak. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lynn, his parents Franklin W. Sr., Charlotte Davenport Harrison and brother Peter D. Harrison. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Jeanne, three children: Wain III, (Marcia), Dean (Molly), Janice Ferguson (Alex), two step-children; Kimberlyn Downs, Karalyn Tresh (Michael), seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, one great grandson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to The American Heart Association 3940 Peninsular Dr. SE #180 Grand Rapids, MI 49546 or DaVita Pdi Dialysis 801 Cherry St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. Following his wishes cremation has taken place. No services will be held.
