She is the daughter of the late Archie C. Allen and Ester Willis Allen.
She was a retired employee of Montgomery Ward with more than 30 years service, last working as a supervisor. She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. She lived most of her adult life in Beckley.
She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Glenn Allen; a brother, Joe Ray Allen; and a sister, Janice Johnson.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years , Ted E. Chaffin; a daughter, Kathryn Zankowitz (husband Joe); a granddaughter, Amy Marie Zankowitz, a brother, Robert Allen; a sister Marie Wills; and her dog "Sammy."
Service at 11 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2005, at Crab Orchard Baptist Church, with the Rev. Phil Shields officiating. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
