Emma Viola Reitz, daughter of Daniel and Catherine (Rutt) Reitz was born near Garden City, Mo., August 6, 1875, and passed away at 4:30 p.m., January 2, 1958, in Kansas City, Mo.
On October 7, 1896, she was married to Clifton R. Lindsay. To this union four children were born, Chester K., Lloyd L., Irene C., and Charles W. Lloyd passed away when a small boy.
She united with the Christian church in Urich in young womanhood, later moving her membership to the Creighton church.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Urich chapter No. 38.
Mr. Lindsay passed away on March 6, 1948. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1946.
Mrs. Lindsay had been in failing health the past two years. She leaves to mourn her passing, her two sons and one daughter, Chester K. Lindsay of Creighton, Mrs. H. E. (Irene C.) Jenkins of Kansas City, and Charles W. Lindsay of Creighton; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother H. N. Reitz of Creighton, and many other relatives and friends. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
The funeral service was conducted at the Creighton Christian church by the Rev J.P. Wilbanks, pastor of the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon.
Burial was made in the Grant cemetery, north of Creighton, with Brown`s Funeral Service of Urich in charge. The pall bearers were her grandsons.
