She was preceded in death by her father, James C. Matthews; her mother, Ethel Mae Matthews; and her niece, A’nyah Grays.
Kim confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W.E. Owes. She was a graduate of East Limestone High School in 1987.
Kim leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted daughter: Aaliyah McCoy of Madison, AL; three devoted sisters: Sharon (Jeffery) Malone of Athens, AL, Eloney (Fredrick) Lewis of Madison, AL and Beverly (Reverend Beechel) Grays of Triana, AL; one niece, Trianna Grays of Triana, AL; five nephews: Mario Matthews of Madison, AL Tavin Malone of Athens, AL, Chris Grays and Quinton Grays both of Triana, AL, Justin Grays of Birmingham, AL: a step mother; Willie Mae Matthews of Huntsville, AL; three step siblings: Dana (Calvin) Cosby of Huntsville, AL; Lauren (Katherine) Cameron of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Lamar (Dionne) Cameron of Nobleville, Indiana; eight aunts: Viola Booker, Anna Matthews and Mary Cosby all of Madison, AL, Lee Ruth Matthews, Lois Matthews, Geraldine Matthews and Mary Sales all of Huntsville, AL, Minnie Matthews of Decatur, AL; five uncles: David (Eloise) Jamar of Montgomery, AL, Raymond (Marie) Jamar of Toney, AL Ervin (Debra) Jamar of Madison, AL, Jerry Jamar of Huntsville, AL and A.D. Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church( 7565 Greenbrier Road Madison, AL 35756) with Pastor Joe H. Cater officiating. Interment will be in Madison Memory Gardens. Ms. McCoy will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing for Ms. McCoy will be held from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 and 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Royal Funeral Home.
