Frances “Buttercup” Annette Woods was born June 4, 1944 to the late Robert Albert Sartors and Annie Mae Sartors in Greensboro, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully on May 17, 2019.

Francis received her education in Guilford County schools and attended a couple of colleges when she lived in Los Angeles, California.

She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, and grandmother. Francis loved the Lord, loved to sing, and she loved to sew and crochet. Teaching crocheting and sewing gained her the name of “Mother Goose”. She enjoyed being the community Mother Goose.

In addition to her parents, Francis was preceded in death by her daughter, Timuria Yvette Samuels and her husband, Burrell Woods, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Pam (Raymond); children, Burrell Woods, III (Carrie), Brandee Woods and Brandon Woods all of Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Shy’mea Woods, Justin Elliott, and Shy’morri Briggs; cousin, Dorothy Hunter; and a host of other cousins, nephews, family members and friends.

She was loved by so many and will be missed.

A homegoing celebration will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1315 E Washington Street, Greensboro, NC.
