A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, 1999, in Holman's Funeral Service for Harry Jaffe, who died June 26 at age 87.
Mr. Jaffe was born Dec. 30, 1911, in Rostov, Russia. He had lived in the Portland area since 1925. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star. He was a barber for more than 70 years and owned Jaffe's Barber Shop in downtown Portland until selling the business in 1982. He retired in 1990. He was a member of Congregation Shaarie Torah. His wife, Shirley, died in 1995.
Survivors include his son, Lou of Portland; daughter, Barbara Dimmick of Brookings; stepsons, Earl Oller and Bob Oller, both of Portland; stepdaughter, Rozalind Oller of Winston; companion, Eleanor Rubenstein of Portland; and eight grandchildren.
Interment will be in Rose City Lodge Cemetery . The family suggests remembrances to Jewish Family and Child Services or the congregation.
