The deceased was born in Freeburg on March 20, 1873, being the youngest child of Philip and Catherine Schiek. She attended the public schools at this place and the Illinois Sate Norman university at Normal. Afterwards she taught the Pleasant Ridge school and later at Smithton.
On November 12, 1901, the deceased was married to Hubert F. Dressler at the home of her parents. They went to housekeeping at once on the farm where she passed the remainder of her life. To this union was born one daughter, Estella, now 10 years old.
Mrs. Dresler was a member of the Ladies' Aid society of St. Paul's Evangelical church. She had a great many friends, by whom she will be sorely missed.
Besides her husband and her daughter, the deceased leaves her mother, Mrs. Catherine Schiek of Freeburg; five brothers and two sisters:

The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, the remains being taken from the family home to St. Paul's Evangelical church, where services were conducted by Rev. K. Dexheimer. A very large number of sorrowing relatives and friends were in attendance. The Ladies' Aid society sang at the church and also at the grave. The pallbearers were William Niess, Gustave Klingel, Gustave Karch, Ben Koesterer, Arthur Griffin and Rudolph Nicol. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful.
