CUMBERLAND- Michael Frederick Flynn, 84, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.
Born on March 19, 1932, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Daniel J. Flynn Sr. and Elizabeth E. (Adams) Flynn.
Mr. Flynn was a United States Air Force Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13 and Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Parish. Mr. Flynn was an avid roller coaster enthusiast and enjoyed doing handyman work around the house.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, J. JoAnn Flynn; two daughters, Michelle Thorfinnsson and husband Ernest Jr., and Patricia Fedorczyk and husband Larry; four grandchildren, M. Amanda McCarty, Justin McCarty III and fiancé Kristina Geiselhart, John E. Yost III, and Jennifer Forbes and husband Beau; and one great-grandson, Logan Forbes.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday, July 12, from 2 to 3 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m.
Following the visitation and funeral, as per Mr. Flynn’s request, he will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
