Born May 10, 1963 in East Lansing, Michigan, he grew up in Sherman Oaks and Glendale, California. He attended the American Academy of Performing Arts in Pasadena, Calif. and was an early member of the Groundlings. He became a Casting Director for television commercials and started his own casting company, Mark Randall Casting, in 1997.
Mark moved to Mohave Valley in 2013, where he lived until his death on January 29, 2017. He is survived by his mother, Shirin McGraham; stepfather, Thomas McGraham; father, Kurt Smith; stepmother, Carmen Smith and step-sister, Rita Grace. Mark is also survived by his cousins, Heather and Eric Caster, Katie Kelly, Karen Plant, Robin Williams, Kelly and Kelly-Jo King, Dennis King and Michael Bell; special relatives John and Kathy Bell, Loretta Bell and his godmother, Kay King.
A Celebration of Life for Mark was organized and hosted by his close friends, Valerie Ahern and Sam Pancake, on March 5, 2017 at the Renberg Theater in Hollywood.
His ashes will be intered at Lexington Municipal Cemetery, Lexington, Michigan, at noon on Saturday, June 15, 2019.
